LearnOutLoud.com Review
Listen to an outstanding podcast series from New York Times tech columnist Kevin Roose on what is the internet doing to us. He tackles this expansive topic through the lens of YouTube. He starts by exploring YouTube's artificial intelligence recommendation algorithms and how they affected a young man's life and political philosophy over several years. Then Roose visits YouTube headquarters to discuss the algorithms and how YouTube is altering their recommendations to take more responsibility over the information they are making available. Roose then explores the rise of the most popular YouTuber in the world "PewDiePie" (who now has over 110 million subscribers) and some of the controversies he has run into as he has combated mainstream media. Roose sits down for an interview with PewDiePie in episode six. The last two episodes cover the conspiracy theory of QAnon and how believers became obsessed with it through YouTube videos and other social media. It's a very well produced podcast that plays like a four-hour audio documentary.
