Hammer highlights the use of social media in marketing a business -- and how it's the newest, fastest, and optimal way to get ideas out into the world. Hammer goes on to talk about how social media has become the new way to get news even faster than the newscasters will bring out the stories. Something will trend on Twitter quicker than someone else can turn on the television or pick up a newspaper. On sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc -- a person has the opportunity to reach a large audience in a short amount of time. In the past, the best way to get recognition in the world was to get on television or the radio, which had its limits, and now, these social platforms make it possible to literally achieve fame overnight. In the same vein, word of mouth is the best way to get people to take notice of one's business, and now imagine being able to reach millions upon millions of people through word of mouth! It's a tool that all businesses need on their side. Hammer is a wonderful eye opener for all starting, existing, flourishing, and failing businesses. Even though it's a few years old, the message is still relevant and universal, and it's well worth the watch.
