Journalist Elizabeth Kolbert has built a solid reputation for best-selling books that track the growing science and political controversy surrounding climate change. Her latest Pulitzer-Prize winner, The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, doubles as both a globe-trotting tour of the regions most affected by a warming planet, and as an investigation of the scientists working courageously to stop this looming threat.
