Chris Hedges is a former Middle East bureau chief for The New York Times. In 2002 he was part of the team that won a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of global terrorism. He has also worked for The Christian Science Monitor, National Public Radio, and The Dallas Morning News. Currently he is a distinguished fellow at Princeton and a senior fellow at The Nation Institute. His previous books include War Is a Force that Gives Us Meaning.
