Originally released in 1959, this Howard Langer–narrated audio documentary traces the creation of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. The recording features an interview with former first lady Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, who speaks on the establishment of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, her role as the chair, and the state of human rights ten years after the Declaration of Human Rights was signed. Mrs. Roosevelt also discusses the content of the declaration and her opinion of the International Covenants on Human Rights. Liner notes include a transcript of the interview, a copy of the Declaration of Human Rights, and a copy of the International Covenants on Human Rights.
