Listen Your Way To Financial Independence
Financial independence means different things to different people. For some it might mean being a millionaire or never having to work again. For others it might mean having a stable residual income. Whatever your definition of financial independence, there is a wealth of information on the subject of how to achieve it. The problem is most of us don’t have a ton of time to read it all. That’s the beauty of audio books. Now you can turn that morning commute or daily jog into your own personal wealth seminar. Here are a few audio titles to get you started.
"Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill – Think and Grow Rich is probably the most well-known book on financial success ever written. As the audio book’s jacket states “Success is not an accident. It’s a habit.” Listening to Think and Grow Rich will help you to build the habits of financial independence. This is a great one to keep going back to over and over again throughout your life. Other titles to check out include Napoleon Hill’s Keys to Success and The Science of Personal Achievement.
"Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki – Kiyosaki burst onto the wealth-building scene with “Rich Dad” and for good reason. He approaches wealth creation much differently than most other authors in the genre. Instead of focusing on pinching pennies as a means to financial independence he advises people to enter the right financial “quadrant.” I’d highly recommend this one to anybody serious about prosperity. Other Kiyosaki titles that you might want to listen to are Rich Dad’s Cashflow Quadrant and Retire Young, Retire Rich.
"The Warren Buffett Way" by Robert Hagstrom – Who better to learn finance and investing from then the World’s greatest investor? Studying Buffett will produce numerous insights that you can apply to your own investing portfolio. You might not be buying multinational companies or sitting on corporate boards anytime soon but you’ll learn a lot that can help you to pick better companies to invest in. Other Buffett-related titles on audio include Hagstrom’s "Warren Buffett Portfolio" and "Buffettology" by David Clark. In addition, Buffett is featured (along with other luminaries like Peter Lynch and George Soros) in "The Book of Investing Wisdom".
Other titles on audio to check out include anything by Suze Orman (you’ll probably recognize her from her numerous appearances on CNBC) and "The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas Stanley.
Of course you’re probably asking the question “How can I afford to buy all these audio books if I’m not wealthy yet?” Fortunately, many public libraries stock these titles. They tend to be very popular so you may have to wait a bit to get them but it is well worth doing so. And if you’re local library doesn’t have a title you are interested in you can always request that they order it or try to get it from another library.
Have fun learning more about finance and listening your way to wealth!
