In this wide-ranging interview, best-selling biographer Walter Isaacson visits the Computer History Museum to speak about the process of chronicling the life of one of the tech world's most intriguing figures. As the biographer of Benjamin Franklin: An American Life and Einstein: His Life and Universe, Isaacson has made a career out of tackling brilliant minds, but he was initially hesitant to take on the task of writing Jobs' biography when the Apple co-founder initially offered. However, as Apple began releasing a series of course-altering products in the early 2000s, Isaacson finally agreed to write a timely book that paints a compelling portrait of the passionate, yet sometimes petulant trailblazer. In Isaacson's estimation, Steve Jobs created a "reality distortion field" that pushed his team at Apple to the edge of what was possible (and sometimes further), leaving behind amazing products, whole new industries, and yes, even a few enemies. This talk is available from the Computer History Museum through their channel on YouTube.
