Long before podcasts or even the Internet, as we know it, host Terry Gross has been conducting interviews with notable figures in the world of the arts and entertainment, journalism, politics, and current affairs. Since 1975, Gross has conducted thousands of interviews out of WHYY-FM in Philadelphia. By 1987, the show was distributed nationally by National Public Radio and has since been one of the most listened-to radio programs and podcasts in the United States. Terry Gross always does her research for her guests and provides an empathetic ear for what they have to say. In 2019, a website for the Fresh Air Archive was launched, providing over 22,000 Fresh Air segments to listen to. The Fresh Air Podcast offers over 500 episodes from the last year of their show, which typically run 45 to 50 minutes long. While host Terry Gross isn't on the show every day now, they usually have a skilled interviewer to fill in while she's away. It's an essential podcast to subscribe to!
