The Future of Human Evolution by Scott Solomon on Free Online Video

The Great Courses have provided for free the final lecture from their course What Darwin Didn't Know: The Modern Science of Evolution taught by Dr. Scott Solomon. The lecture is entitled "The Future of Human Evolution" and Professor Solomon talks about whether or not the human species is done evolving. He points out that many prominent scientists feel that in our globalized world our evolution is finished. But Solomon suggests some ways that we might slightly change in the future of human history. While the natural selection of survival does not play as much of a factor, sexual selection still does. For instance, women now are able to get C-sections and take fertility drugs which could change the evolution of reproduction. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Solomon goes on a tangent about humans living on Mars and how human evolution could change rapidly in that new climate!
