Representative John Lewis (D-GA) talked about his life and work, including his civil rights activism and speaking at the March on Washington with Martin Luther King Jr. Mr. Lewis was the chair of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee from 1963 to 1966. Elected to the U.S. Congress in 1986, he represents Georgia's 5th Congressional District. He is the author of three nonfiction books: Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement; Across That Bridge: Life Lessons and a Vision for Change; and March: Book 1.
