In this great speech delivered on March 14, 1968, less than a month before he was killed, Dr. King talks about the two Americas that are still very relevant to our modern times. He addresses the affluent America and the other America of poor people of every color, and particularly of African Americans. Dr. King acknowledges the great strides forward of the civil rights movement of the 1960s, but emphasizes the need to go further in the fight for justice for this other America. He brings up suggestions toward eliminating poverty in America, such as a basic livable income for every American. He also addresses his feelings on rioting and the social unrest at the time. Watch this great speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered towards the end of his life. The video on YouTube features film of the speech and has a few minor glitches in the editing, but it is worth getting to see Dr. King deliver his powerful speech.
