LearnOutLoud.com Review
In this great speech that Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered on April 27, 1965, he provides a brief history of the progress in race relations in the United States and also his outlook on how far America has yet to go to further confront racial injustice. From ending slavery through the civil rights movement that led to desegregation, Dr. King acknowledges some of the progress that has been made up to the mid-1960s. He outlines issues that still remain today such as racial inequality in poverty rates, obstruction to voting rights, and de facto segregation in many areas of American society. And while race relations may have improved in his time, Dr. King ultimately urges his audience towards creative maladjustment to the status quo by proceeding in the nonviolent struggle towards justice for all.
