There are a lot of books that attempt to give you help with a troubled relationship. Unfortunately, there are precious few that actually help you to avoid trouble by giving you help in choosing the right partner or knowing whether your current relationship has a good chance for success. In Are You the One for Me? De Angelis talks about "fatal flaws" which should be addressed if the relationship is going to succeed. She also covers "compatibility timebombs", which are things which might not appear serious at first but can build over time and put a couple through a lot of difficulty. I enjoyed this audiobook and would recommend it for anyone considering marriage, engagement, etc.
At times it seemed as if De Angelis' definition of a good relationship might be difficult to achieve. Having said that, it seems as if it is something that we should all strive towards. If more people took their relationships as seriously as they took work or other aspects of their lives, both marriages and families would be stronger and peoples' lives would be a lot healthier. If that's important to you give this book a listen regardless of what stage of relationship you're currently in.
I listened to the abridged version of this book (approx. 3 hours) through Audible.com. It was narrated by the author and she did an excellent job. The only thing that would have been nice would have been some sort of a companion workbook to do some of the exercises that are included in the book. Other that that, this was an enjoyable and informative listen.
