Description

Meditation is an inward journey, a door to self-discovery. These three meditations from the yoga tradition provide a comprehensive introduction to meditation. These practices help to develop a cheerful, clear, and calm mind, bringing about a gradual transformation of consciousness. Use any one of them for daily practice to experience inner focus, the awakening of an inner calm, and harmony of body and mind.

Rolf Sovik, Psy.D., is Spiritual Director of the Himalayan Institute and a clinical psychologist in private practice. He travels frequently in the U.S. and abroad to train yoga teachers and to lecture on a wide variety of yoga-related subjects. He is a regular contributor to Yoga + Joyful Living magazine and is author of Moving Inward: The Journey to Meditation and co-author of the award-winning book Yoga: Mastering the Basics. He and his wife are co-directors of the Himalayan Institute of Buffalo, New York.
