PayPerListen.com is the electronic downloading service of Audiobooks.com and it sells over 500 audio book titles through MP3 download. They currently offer titles from nine publishers including Blackstone Audiobooks, In Audio, & Tantor Audio. Anyone can purchase these audio books online and when payment is confirmed they send you an e-mail with a website and a user name and password to access the audio books files (no software is necessary to download their audio books). They break the audio book into one hour segments of encoded MP3s which you can listen to on your computer, portable digital audio player (iPod for example), or PocketPC. Their MP3 encoding prevents you from burning these files onto audio CD due to arrangements with publishers. Once you've purchased an audio book from them you can always access the audio book files by logging into Your Library on the PayPerListen.com site so you can download them multiple times or one file at a time.
